Thaen Mittai


 

Idli Rice 1 cup
Urad Dhal ¼ cup
Beetroot Small piece
Baking Soda ¼ tsp
Sugar 1 cup
Cardamom powder A pinch
Salt A pinch
Oil As Required
Lemon juice ½ tsp

 

 

Method

  1. Wash both dals and soak it for 4-5 hours
  2. Now drain the water and by adding little water grind it to fine paste along with the beetroot
  3. Now add a pinch of baking soda and a pinch of salt
  4. Heat oil in a pan in medium-high heat
  5. Fry these ground batter in small balls
  6. fry until the outer part is crispy and golden brown
  7. Meanwhile in a wok add 1 class of water with sugar and make into a syrup less than the string consistency
  8. To the warm syrup add the fried ball – let it soak for at least 20-30 minutes
  9. Now remove it from the syrup and dust it with crystal sugar
  10. Allow it cool and serve
