Method
- Wash and soak the urad dal and fenugreek together for 8 hours
- Wash and soak the idli rice and raw rice together for 8 hours
- Now drain water from urad dal and grind it to fine paste with the help of a mixer or grinder
- With adding less water grind the rice to a fine paste
- Mix both batters together with salt
- Cover it and allow it ferment overnight
- To a small pan add 2 tsp of oil
- Add crushed pepper, cumin and curry leaves
- Season it to the fermented batter and mix well] now grease idli plates or idli moulds
- Pour the batter and steam it for 15-20 minutes in regular idli steaming vessel
- Serve hot with desired chutney
